ADVANCED POLLING INFORMATION

 

Wednesday 15th May 2024 8.00 A.M. – 8.00 P.M.

 

Advanced Polls for incapacitated and travellers will be held at Christ Anglican Church Devonshire, church hall, 106 Middle Road, Devonshire.

Travellers

 

Voters who are registered to vote on the final register of electors for Smith’s North, Constituency #10, and who intend to be absent from Bermuda or to travel to or from Bermuda on the polling day are eligible to apply to vote in an advanced poll for travellers.

 

Anyone who wishes to vote in the advanced poll for travellers, should go directly to the polling station during advanced polling and present the required documents to vote.

 

Requirements

  • Travellers are required to have valid photo identification and:
  • A hard copy of their confirmed/paid-for travel documents, clearly showing the dates of departure, and return (these copies will be retained by the Returning Officer, digital copies will not be accepted).

 

Incapacitated Voters

 

Anyone who will not be able to vote on the polling day due to incapacity is eligible to vote in an advanced poll. Incapacity is not limited to, but includes persons scheduled for surgery or C-sections on or before Election Day, and those persons who, due to illness, infirmity, or disability are likely to be unable to travel to the election room on polling day.

 

These people will require a certificate of incapacity. Any registered medical practitioner may write to confirm the voter’s incapacity. The practitioner should email or call the Parliamentary Registrar as soon as practicable at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  or 293-VOTE and the Registrar shall issue the practitioner with a certificate for the voter.  The voter will not be able to vote without a certificate of incapacity.

Advanced Polls Sick & Shut-in

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

Voters who are registered to vote on the final register of electors for any given parliamentary election and who are not able by mechanical means or other means due to disability or poor health to get to the polling place to cast their vote.

 

Any voter who wishes to take part in advanced polling for sick and shut-in voters, should contact the office no later than 10 May 2024 to register to be visited at home.
